New Jersey Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC) Training

It’s with great pleasure to announce that SD Gameday is now a provider of Basic Life Support (BLS) courses through the American Heart Association. Early Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC) intervention can increase the chance of survival after a sudden cardiac event. During ECC, blood is manually pumped through the body in attempt to preserve brain tissue until advanced medical care can take over. Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are increasingly available at many locations, such as shopping malls and airports. They are small, lightweight devices used to assess a person’s heart rhythm. An AED can detect the need for and administer an electric shock to restore a normal heart rhythm in people with sudden cardiac arrest.

The importance of ECC and availability of an AED has been a topic of great conversation within the athletic world given the implementation of Janet’s Law. This law requires that all coaches who are present for athletic events be certified in both ECC and the use of an AED. To ensure your organization is compliant with this law, SD Gameday will certify coaches, event staff, parents and any athletes who are interested in saving a life. Instruction is available at times that are convenient to all parties involved and we can conduct the courses at a location of your choice.

We look forward to the opportunity to serve your school or organization. Please contact us by completing the information box on the right of the screen. For a description of the AHA courses listed above click here.
